Ceci Sommers
Founding Member & Special Advisor, AMEI

Ceci Sommers is a founding board member of AMEI. Her professional career has mainly been in Public Broadcasting, where she served both in management and as on-air talent. She and her late husband founded WQED-FM, Pittsburgh’s fine arts radio station in 1973. She was also a founding board member of the Chicago International Film Festival in 1963 and the Drue Heinz Lectures in 1991. She is proud of her ability to be “there at the beginning” of long-lasting, vibrant and important organizations.
